Angel Organics is a certified organic family farm at Welshmans Reef in central Victoria, just off the Newstead to Maldon road. It is run by Jo Hortin, a long-standing advocate and practitioner of certified organic farming who pairs it with conscientious animal husbandry, raising lamb, pork and beef along with organically grown produce for the local food bowl.
This is a farm-direct operation rather than a shopfront. Jo has set up an online ordering system on the Angel Organics website so customers can order her meat and produce directly, and the farm is a familiar name in the Newstead and Castlemaine district's organic and local-food community.
