About

Griffith Butchery has served the inner-Canberra suburb of Griffith since 1989, working under a "pristine produce" ethos. It is certified both bio-dynamic and organic, and the meat it sells is raised humanely and organically โ€” without insecticides, herbicides, hormones or steroids. The beef, lamb and veal are pasture-fed, the chickens are free-range and certified organic, and the pork is free of added hormones and steroids.

Much of what fills the counter is made on site from scratch โ€” the sausages, hams, bacon and the shop's award-winning pies are all produced in-house. The butchery has bought from the same trusted farmer since 1990 and works with a small group of growers who share its focus on animal welfare and the land. Bulk orders of its leaner, cleaner meat are available.
