Farmer Brown's is a family-owned egg producer just outside the village of Hall, on the northern edge of the ACT. The hens are run on a 20-hectare property with free roaming access to pasture, at a stocking density well under 100 birds per hectare, so the flock can forage, scratch and dust bathe in the way laying hens naturally do. The result is genuinely pasture-raised free-range eggs with low food miles.
The farm sells through a self-serve honesty booth at 7 Gladstone St in Hall, where you take a carton and leave your payment, plus a second booth at 34 Hakea Cres in O'Connor. You'll also find Farmer Brown's eggs at the Canberra Region Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and through local stockists including Choku Bai Jo, Lost River Produce, Ziggy's Fresh and Ainslie IGA.
Canberra locals after fresh, pasture-raised free-range eggs from a nearby family farm, with the convenience of a self-serve honesty booth.
The Hall honesty booth is self-serve, so you can drop in to buy eggs at your convenience. Catch the stall at the Canberra Region Farmers Market on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 11:30 am at EPIC, Mitchell. Contact the farm to confirm current arrangements.
